These are my first Cabinet Pictures–I love the Renaissance motifs. These intimate collages were started during Covid as I tuned into evening reports from our government and worked on these small, meditative pieces. Bits of my watercolor studies were laser-cut and used as overlays on reproductions of traditional landscapes. Some Early Mysteries showcase small photos I took at Greek temple sites.

Who can resist flowers and fields?

I painted my first Full Moon Painting overlooking the North Atlantic on Prince Edward Island. A dear friend had a cottage there and invited me to paint on P.E.I. during my sabbatical. I painted the full moon by moonlight as I have ever since. When I got home, my son inspired me to try to paint the full moon nearly every month. Just being out at night even on winter nights is peaceful and inspiring.

Throughout my career, I created small finished works on paper or canvas as I develop a particular series. These small gems can be watercolors, egg tempura, or colored pencil.

I take a travel watercolor set with me whenever I travel, near and far from my own backyard to Taos, New Mexico to Thailand. I even painted the runway and distant trees at O’Hare when we were delayed for take-off.

Greece is mesmerizing. I couldn’t paint just enough at temple sites–some crazy-famous, some like Dion, lesser known. The Greek people have big hearts, which made my three teaching sojourns to Greece even more memorable.
